This weekend was the first week of the Winter League put on by the Dallas Ultimate club. It is the 3rd year for us being part of this league, although we plan to bike most Saturdays so may not play that much. This year the theme is the Simpsons, which means all the teams and are named with a Simpson's theme. My team is the "Krusty Komebacks". Ted's team is "Doh, A Disc, A Flying Disc!"
The start of the Winter League season meant that we had a start-up party at the Blarney Stone Friday night, and then the first round of games on Saturday. Ted and I biked instead but when we were finished we went to the fields to party with the Ultimate players. The games were all over by then but the party was pretty fun. I heard my team won both their games. Go Team!
The biking was great, we did the Northshore trail at Grapevine again, it's really fun. It was my first ride with my new Egg Beater pedals too, but I did alright - about 3 times I didn't come out of my pedals when I meant to but it didn't cause me any serious crashes. I think they will be great when I get used to them a little more.
In other news, on Sunday evening we went with Wayne to see Pablo Francisco at the Addision Improv. He was really funny.
