02.10.2003 11:21am - Third Annual Limo Party

Comments (2)

On Saturday we hosted a party to celebrate the birthdays of Big Ed, Tammy, Billy BAMF, and Pokemon. It was called the "Third Annual Limo Party" because the last two years we have celebrated with a limo party where we rented limos and drove around to different clubs. However, they all thought the limo thing was too difficult to organize so they wanted to do something different this year, and we offered our house.

It turned out to be a really good party, although not as many people came as we expected. The ones who came were the hard-core partiers, however! We had a yuk-o-flux and a keg, and as usual anywhere where there is yuk-o-flux there is much drunkeness. We had dancing, drinking games, porn movies, twister, tons of people cramming into the washroom, etc. And at the end of the night all our beds were full of people too drunk to drive - even the beds in the RV out back. So I think it was a successful party!

And, to top things off, there was plenty of yuk-o-flux left over. That stuff is now strained, bottled, and in our freezer. It will come along with us on the trip to Mardi Gras where it will continue to cause much drunken reveling. Yippee!

In other Mardi Gras -related news, on Saturday Ted and I did something we've been planning for years, and saving for a couple months - we bought a new stereo for the RV! It had a very crappy stereo before, just a tape deck with terrible speakers. Now we have one that has satellite radio, CD and MP3 deck, and RCA outs so we can connect our laptop to it to play our MP3s there, or our DVDs when we are watching movies in the RV. And four new much nicer speakers. It's all being installed today. This should greatly improve the music during the long pilgrammage to New Orleans at the end of the month.

Just wanted to report on the RV stereo installation - it went great! That satellite radio thing is really neat, so many channels with any kind of music you want, and NO COMMERCIALS! And being able to play a CD full of MP3s is very cool also, I have a CD with over 100 songs and it can random-play through them all, and knows the artist and song title too. So we will have no shortage of music on future RV trips.

Watching DVDs on the laptop with the sound piped through the new RV speakers is pretty sweet as well. All in all, this has been a major improvement to the sound situation in the RV.

Can't wait to get down there and hear the new stereo. That'll make for an awesome roadtrip! "Don't come knockin' if the RV is rockin'" See you guys in a couple of weeks.
