09.22.2003 09:19am - Austin City Limits

Sunday was Wayne's birthday. To celebrate, we went to Austin in the RV and he introduced us to a great event, the Austin City Limits Music Festival. It was a really good time. Austin is always fun and this was an extra-special weekend to be there with all the festivities surrounding the festival.

It was the RV's first trip since having its front end reconstructed. It held up on the drive, and it drizzled and sometimes poured rain all weekend and there were no leaks. Yippee! We parked it outside Wayne's friend's house since the usual RV park was booked up.

The dogs came with us and got a few outings to the dog park so I think they had a good time.

We were also introduced to great, cheap Mexican breakfasts at Juan in a Million, where we ate both Saturday and Sunday for breakfast!

We saw some great bands at the show, notably the North Mississippi Allstars - there was a guy playing an electric washboard, that was pretty cool! ... and The String Cheese Incident who put on an amazing show.

So thanks for inviting us down, Wayne, and Happy Birthday! And also thanks to Storm who organized everything, got us free drinks and food in the VIP tent, and set us up with everything else partying concert-goers could possibly want.
