12.08.2003 10:38am - Ted is in Seattle

Ted is on a business trip in Seattle right now. He left on Friday and flew to Kelowna for a short weekend visit with his family there. Now he will spend the week doing his work stuff, and then on Friday fly to Vancouver for another short weekend visit with more family and friends!

On Friday we got stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the airport and he missed his flight! Then that meant he missed his connection to Kelowna and had to stay the night in Seattle - shortening his Kelowna visit considerably. He was really mad about that.

I was planning to go up and meet him for part of the trip, but the cost didn't seem worth it for such a short visit. I was hoping I could get sent on a business trip as well at the same time, but that didn't happen either. So, I am stuck here in Dallas by myself. Who can be lonely with all our pets though! :)

Also our friends Dan and Vanessa have been keeping me company. I had all kinds of plans for doing productive things around the house, but I've been so busy I haven't had much of a chance yet! We went out for lunch, went to a movie ("The Last Samurai" - it was alright), went out for dinner to a cool place called Rouge, and hung out at Danny's house in Cedar Springs. Fun stuff!

Huge bummer about the traffic jam....not fun when you are sitting there tearing the shit out of the steering wheel and cursing at all the other morons on the freeway...! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Yeah, that sounds exactly like what Ted was doing. We were still optimistic that he would make it though. After all, he got to the airport with 15-20 minutes to spare - but at the desk they said they can't take any more checked luggage after 30 minutes prior! If he hadn't had luggage to check he would've been okay.
