I have to write a plug for Play It Again Sports. I know it is a chain and I don't know if they're all as nice as the one we've been dealing with (on Parker Rd in Plano). But we bought a refurbished treadmill there a few weeks ago and these folks have been GREAT.

We researched treadmills in Consumer Reports and Consumer Guide before buying. We decided to go with a refurbished Keys Discovery 560HR, based on price, features, and reviews. Since we read that it's quite common to have some problems and it's a good idea to purchase an extended warranty, I was very nervous about getting a refurb with NO warranty. The guy at the store assured us that when their customers have problems they'll come out and fix it themselves for free. I wondered if we were gullible for believing that.

But - no such worries! We did have problems. Within about a week we noticed that the "heart rate program" wasn't working. We called the store and they sent a guy out to our house to look at it. He found it needed a new part and said he'd get it for us. While looking at it he also noticed that the belt didn't "sound right" to him. He took it apart and found a one of the wheels was bent inside. After checking back with the store he said they would exchange ours for a different one.

We waited about 2 weeks (it was still usable), during which time the store was really apologetic that it was taking so long for them to get in a suitable replacement unit. After a while I guess they felt so bad about not having one for us, that they gave us a free upgrade to a brand new Keys Healthtrainer 801! This one is a step up from the one we bought, with a larger motor and some extra programs. It was classified as a "refurb" but only had 1 hour of usage time on it. We got it on Wednesday and so far it's been great.

So in summary, we're really happy from the service we're getting from Play It Again Sports. I would not hesitate to buy from them again after this experience!
