03.30.2004 11:33am - Long Weekend in Austin

Comments (2)

Ted and I took Friday and Monday off to go to Austin in the RV with Mom and Dad. It was a good time! The weather was great, the Austin atmosphere was wonderful as usual, and it was a nice break from Dallas.

We ate at a bunch of great restaurants including Austin Java Co (they have a great breakfast menu), The Old Pecan Street Cafe, a very cute place on 6th Street, and of course, Shady Grove, a hip hamburger joint.

Dad was happy to get a chance to golf, and visit the "World Headquarters" of his favorite store, Golfsmith.

We also canoed on Barton Springs Creek and Town Lake, watched the bats come out from under Congress Bridge at sunset, and walked around lots and shopped in some cute boutiques.

We liked Austin sooo much that we might have to retire there for a few months of every year! Not July and August, of course!
Thanks for taking us there and for the fun time we had in Texas!
It was really nice to meet your friends, Vanessa and Dan, and really nice to see Thuy and Stephen!
Our next visit will be the most exciting yet!

We really like Austin as well. It's amazing that it is so close to Dallas and yet so different.

We had fun on your visit too!
