It's that time of year again... time for outdoor festivals, parties, and weddings. In the last few weeks we have attended the Wildflower festival, a wedding, the Taste Addison festival, and a "tube party".
Wildflower was May 7-9. It is the annual festival which is hosted right here in our own high-tech park. Nortel and the other telecom companies around this area are sponsors and it is pretty fun (although sometimes inconvenient) to watch them transform the grounds around our buildings into a festival site complete with big concert stages, booths, and porta-potties. We attended to eat roasted corn and other festival food, visit some booths, and take in some of the live music. We saw a local band called Radiant, and the very strange band The Polyphonic Spree.
Our friend Charlie Gaddy got married to Andie who he's been dating for several years now, on May 8th. It was a fun wedding at a very nice inn in Denton. It did pour rain during their outdoor ceremony and we had to run inside, but oh well. It cleared up to a beautiful night with lots of outdoor dancing, etc.
On May 15, BC and Barb had a "tube party" at their new beautiful house. They live on a creek and had folks tubing around in there. Actually as the day started out cloudy there weren't too many tubers, but there were a few. The dogs were invited to that party and had a great time running around with the other dogs and wading in the creek.
"Taste Addison" was May 15-16. Addison is a Dallas suburb with tons of restaurants and they hold this annual festival where the restaurants put up booths and you can sample their food. It was yummy. They also had live music but nobody we were really interested in. We heard Blondie singing songs I remember hearing in kindergarten. ;)
