I don't know what's going on, but the weather has been COOL in Dallas for the last couple of days. Starting on Sunday, it's been as low as 72 F and only getting up to a max of 90 F in the daytime. That's 22 - 32 C. Wow!

I'm pretty sure this is unheard of for Dallas in July. It is usually over 100 around now. All along it has been a much cooler summer than usual, but this is really great. I feel very lucky because I was worried about how miserable it would be to be big and pregnant in the summer here.

I just hope it lasts because my parents are coming in 1.5 weeks and my aunt and sister after that. I know they have been worried about how they will cope with the Texas summer. It is even more difficult when you haven't been here for the whole heating-up period to acclimatize! The forecast at weather.com shows it getting a little hotter early next week but not too bad.

Dare I hope we will continue to be this lucky? *Fingers crossed* *Knock on wood* *all those other cliched things so this entry itself won't start the bad luck....* :)

Hey Janice,
Heard Dallas was hit hard with alot of rain last night. Did you guys have to build an ark for you, Ted and all those animals? :-) I hope all is well.

We got some rain on Wednesday night, but it wasn't too bad in our area. Last night was worse though! Lots of rain and big LOUD claps of thunder. I didn't see any sign of flooding although I heard about it on the news.

Cool weather is fine by me! I hope it keeps up while I'm there! It has been super hot here in Halifax (and by that I mean 25-30 degrees;) the last couple of days - and although I love the new cutsy attic apartment it can get a little warm ;)

Can't wait to see you guys and mom, dad, and Aunt Lorraine soon!

Bad news, Sue... there's a heat advisory in effect today! :( Although it's not too bad yet this morning. I checked the forecast and it looks like it will be more reasonable again next week so that's a good sign. In any case it's much better than previous summers when we had stuff like, 30 days in a row over 100 F! So far this summer it's only peaked over 100 a few scattered times.

I know what you mean about the attic, or even, the upper floor of any house. I remember the summer when we lived in Surrey, the candles I had on the fireplace mantle upstairs melted! Now that is too hot for in the house! Thank goodness we have A/C down here.

Yup, the big family visit is coming up, I'm really looking forward to it too. I hope all our home renovations will be done by then!
