11.21.2004 10:42pm - General Update

I haven't blogged in a while so here's a quick update! Things are going really well. I'm finally on leave, Nona came to visit, and Peyton is 3 months old. Follow the link if you want the details...

My year of leave from work started November 1st so I've been off for a while now actually. It's been fine. I spend my days entertaining and taking care of Peyton, trying to fit in a few housework items if I can, and that's about it. I've joined a StrollerFit class to keep active and meet other mothers. I'm actually very busy and not bored at all.

Ted's mother Janet (Peyton's "Nona") came to visit for a week in early November so that was fun. Ted and I both had birthdays recently. The dogs and cats are doing fine and don't seem too perturbed by the new addition to the family. Tigger is happy that his mom gets to stay home with him all day. Maki is happy the weather is cooling down here in Texas, but is NOT happy that it's been raining so we won't take him to the dogpark (too muddy). Chewy sleeps in various hideouts most of the time but comes out for "random moments of extreme affection". Jewel is always somewhere she's not allowed, getting into something she's not supposed to.

Today is Peyton's 3-month birthday! She is doing really great. She now weighs about 13.5 lbs, can hold her head pretty well, and is just starting to grab things. She smiles a lot and is starting to laugh and giggle. She seemed to go through a bit of a fussy spurt a while back. She decided she hated the car which was very hard for us because we don't like to hang around home much! Luckily she seems to be settling down a bit now. As always you can check out the photo gallery for the latest pictures of her, I'm a bit behind right now but I try to post them at least every 2 weeks or so!

That's about it!
