Long time no blog, but we are doing fine. Peyton in particular is doing really well. She is almost 13 months old now. The big news since her birthday, when she was just taking a few tentative steps, is that she can walk quite well now!

It's a pretty funny-looking walk, very jerky and unsteady, but she now prefers to walk everywhere instead of crawling, and she's getting pretty fast at it. She falls a lot but it doesn't seem to bother her. Even when it makes me cringe, she just gets up and goes again.

She has some baby friends now in Ottawa! There is Alex, the son of a couple that we used to know in Vancouver, whom we didn't even know had moved here until we met up with them by accident. Also there is Anna, the daughter of some family friends of Aunt Lorraine's. It's really nice for us to have other parents to hang out with, and the little ones have fun too! Alex and Peyton are doing "baby gymnastics" together on Sunday mornings, and Anna and Peyton had a great play date at Cosmic Adventures on Friday.

Now that she is old enough to wear a helmet, we have been doing some biking with her in a trailer. She is also getting old enough to start enjoying things like, going to the playground. The other day she surprised me by actually climbing up the ladder to the slide! She's a really good climber!

Her hair is also growing and now it's down in her eyes if I don't put it back with a buckle or something. It looks pretty cute. I will have to get some pictures of that, I don't have any yet. But there are lots of other cute pics in her gallery!
