Two years ago today, we had a brand new baby join our family - now we have a big, smart, cute two-year-old! Wow, they change a lot in the first two years. It's unbelievable!

We had a party for Peyton yesterday. We planned a beach party at a fun beach in Ottawa that has a playground and nice shallow water that's great for little ones. Unfortunately it rained yesterday so we ended up just having a house party. It was fun anyway. Of course we had to have a "Dora the Explorer" theme as she has been really fond of Dora for the last few months (interestingly, though, in the last week or so "The Backyardigans" have seemed to be replacing Dora as the favorite).

Peyton was very lucky to have a lot of fun guests at her party. In addition to the local friends (like her best buddy Anna), it was really exciting to have her cousins from BC, Austin and Grace, and her 2nd cousins from NL, Jenna and Victoria, able to attend her party for the second year in a row!

All in all it was a fun day, and then today on her real birthday the weather was nicer and we finally did get to take her to the beach. And now we're moving on to experiencing the adventures of life with a two-year-old!
