01.29.2003 10:59am - Conversion to Movable Type Comments (14)
Another big change on brindleweb this morning... my conversion of this blog to a new software, Movable Type. The conversion seems to have gone well, and you will see a few new features, like the stuff in the right column on the main page, and the ability to "save" your info in the comments! ...more

01.28.2003 09:05am - Site Update: PHP Comments (3)
I guess I am behind the times. But last night I finally updated the whole brindleweb site (excluding the rescue site) to use PHP for all the main files. This allows me to use template (include) files for the common stuff like the header and footer, instead of having to cut & paste the same thing into all my HTML files. So, there may be some broken links or out-of-date bookmarks now. Let me know if you see any problems!

01.27.2003 09:37am - When Good Skunks Go Bad Comments (3)
This weekend we went to Bar H Ranch for mountain biking. It was pretty fun, but very cold out! It hovered around 0 C all weekend... brrr. On Saturday night we went for a night-ride and took the dogs with their glowing collars. About halfway through a 5 mile ride Ted saw a skunk (but the dogs didn't, luckily) and we thought, "Oh my gosh, what would we ever do if the dogs got sprayed by a skunk, and we're way out here staying in the RV." ...more

01.23.2003 03:41pm - Countdown to Mardi Gras Comments (9)
Mardi Gras is on March 4th this year, just over a month away. That means that serious planning is now underway for the third annual RV Mardi Gras trip to New Orleans! This year we will be leaving Dallas on Feb 28th and staying in New Orleans until Monday morning March 3rd. I think this is going to be the best year yet, all the plans are coming together quite nicely. ...more

01.20.2003 11:30am - General Madness Attacks Ted Comments (7)
... no, I guess that is not what GMAT stands for. But, general madness has attacked Ted and he has decided to write his GMAT, and then maybe to think about doing his MBA. He decided this on Tuesday or Wednesday and has already signed up to write the test in mid-February. So he's been studying a lot. It is very strange. ...more

01.14.2003 11:51am - ANOTHER Digital Camera Lemon? Comments (6)
Ted and I decided on a Christmas gift to each other this year - a new digital camera. We researched and decided on the Nikon Coolpix 4500, and bought it from a store on e-bay (brand new). We just received it last night and it doesn't work! We have the worst luck with digital cameras EVER! ...more

01.13.2003 03:47pm - Snow in Texas! Comments (8)
Yesterday it snowed here! Probably only about 1 - 2 inches, but it was pretty neat. We hoped we might get a "snow day" today and be able to stay home from work, but no such luck. Unfortunately it was very wet snow and probably didn't help the mountain bike trails, some of which are closed right now due to mud. We did get to go biking Saturday after an approximately 3 week long hiatus due to rain and Christmas. ...more

01.06.2003 11:51am - Back to Reality Comments (6)
We are now back in Texas after having a great and very busy holiday in BC. We managed to see almost everybody we wanted to (no small feat), ate lots of good food, and went skiing AND snowboarding. It was amazing, and really reminded us of how much we miss living in Canada and especially in BC. I have to say that I am not too happy to be back at work this morning. Oh well, back to the grind. ...more
