To all who have been bugging me for pictures of my house, I have finally put some up. We are making lots of changes around the house right now, so hopefully I'll keep adding or replacing pictures as we go.

Sunday was Wayne's birthday. To celebrate, we went to Austin in the RV and he introduced us to a great event, the Austin City Limits Music Festival. It was a really good time. This weekend we ripped up the carpet in our living room and installed Pergo Prodigy laminate flooring (i.e. fake hardwood) in "Antique Amber Oak" color. It is not quite finished - we still have to put down the moldings and trim - but it looks great. ...more

Update on the canary... we still have him, no sign of any owners. But he is not doing so well. We took him to a bird vet who said he either has mites (not serious) or pox (a serious, usually terminal bird disease). Right now I'm thinking it must be pox. ...more

Last night we found a little yellow bird sitting in front of our door when we came home from dinner. He was obviously not a wild bird. I think he is a canary. We put the cats away and herded him into our house and he is now living in our spare room while we look for his owners. ...more

A funny thing happened on the weekend. Last week (and for the last couple months) it was crazy stinking hot here. For example, all last week was probably about 37 - 40 C. On Saturday it was still like that. Then, starting Sunday morning, it cooled way down suddenly! This morning it was only 21 C as we were driving in to work! ...more
